Dear Members,
I'm happy to inform you all, that, as one of our new features in the group for 2011, we will soon start a new mini-competition series, based on other groups features, called: Theme week.
Theme week will accompany every month's last week, from monday to sunday, GMT + 0, Greenwich time.
What is "Theme week"? Theme week is a small competition (not to be confused with contests, we will have normal, big-prize contests too this year, so hang on there!) with a given theme, where you can enter your work. We will accept a maximum of 2 submissions per theme week, and we'll try to separate the submission limits from the other folders. What does this mean? This means, that you can submit 1 deviation during the theme week to a normal constant folder, and 2 deviations to the Theme week folder!
We will have some small restrictions in the theme week submissioning: we will NOT accept everything. Consider this like a periodical exhibition - you don't want to see bad art at an exhibition, either. As I read somewhere else: we would like to see 10 good pictures, than to see 10000 crappy ones. But, don't be afraid: we still don't want to see just professional work!
What are the expectations?
- Must be photography.
- Deviations in the given theme.
- The entry has to be in at least good quality: not under/overexposed, not blurry, not too small, etc.
- And still, no photo manipulations and output of any marketing/PR/designer studios, like posters, motivational and demotivational stuff. And period.
It's not that much, is it?
After the entry period is closed, our admins will vote about which 3 entries they liked the most. Remember: Theme week is more about fun, not prizes, but:
So, I can say, that we will give prizes, in the spirit of PR and public exposure! Of course, all the entries that got at least one vote will be featured in a journal entry with the best three entries!
Important: how this will work? To save some space and time, we will only write 1 journal per theme week. And a journal entry will have a 3 step lifetime:
- Journal written, theme week folder is open, theme week is open.
- Journal updated, folder closed, theme week is closed.
- Journal updated, first three highlighted, other entries in the race mentioned. Journal closed.
So, it's important for you to check the journal often!
And another thing: please, update your submitted deviation's description with a text similar to this:
"I've entered this work in the Theme Week of
, yay!"
We will signal you if you missed this one.
